Government-funded Bachelor's Degree Programmes
Applicants with HKDSE qualifications will be admitted to a College or School. For the School of Energy and Environment and the School of Law, students will be considered for admission directly to the Bachelor of Engineering in Energy Science and Engineering and the Bachelor of Laws programmes respectively. For the College of Business, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, College of Science and Engineering, and the School of Creative Media, students will not enter a major until after one year of study. The top 20% of students [based on (i) cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the end of Semester B; (ii) no failed grades in any courses in Semesters A and B; and (iii) completion of at least 30 credit units in Semesters A and B, including the number of credit units specified by the College/School for its required courses] will have free choice of the majors offered by their College/School*. The other 80% of students will be allocated a major of their choice, subject to availability of places and the selection criteria set by individual College/School*. *For the College of Science and Engineering (CSE), the choice of majors will be specific to CSE (Science) or CSE (Engineering).
