Applicants with HKDSE qualifications will be admitted to a College or School. For the School of Energy and Environment and the School of Law, students will be considered for admission directly to the Bachelor of Engineering in Energy Science and Engineering programme and the Bachelor of Laws programme respectively. For other colleges and school that offer more than one major, students will select major after 2 or 3 semesters of study. Generally, 20% of students in each College* or School will have a free choice of majors, based on academic performance. The School of Energy and Environment aims to perform cutting-edge research and provide professional education in globally hot issues related to energy and the environment. The development of technologies that can generate clean and sustainable energy, and research into the effects of energy use and production on the environment and global climate change are of significant importance.
To mitigate climate change as a result of the overuse of fossil fuels, governments and industrial as well as business sectors have been gearing up to use technologies that can lead to energy efficiency and conservation. This is where the School of Energy and Environment, as an educator, steps in to provide such training.
