To consolidate our position as a centre of academic and professional excellence, we aim to:

  • produce innovative and relevant research that enriches the understanding and practice of business;
  • develop business leaders with a broad understanding of China's marketplaces; and
  • contribute to the welfare of our faculty and staff members, students, alumni, university, business partners, nation, and the world at large.

Admission Arrangements for Direct / Non-JUPAS Applicants

Applicants holding a 12-year school-leaving qualification or a partially completed sub-degree qualification may apply for admission to first-year studies. Students are admitted with an undeclared major. Students will enter a major after the first year of study. The minimum graduation requirement for students of the four-year BBA structure is 120 credits. During their first year, students will study a broad range of Gateway Education (GE) and College core courses. The top 20% of students [based on (i) cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at the end of Semester B; (ii) no failed grades in any courses in Semesters A and B; and (iii) completion of at least 30 credit units in Semesters A and B, including the number of credit units specified by the College for its required courses] will have free choice of the majors offered by the College. The other 80% of students will be allocated a major of their choice, subject to the availability of places and the selection criteria set by the College of Business.

Applicants holding a 13-year school leaving qualification (e.g. IB, GCE A-level) may apply for direct admission to a major offered by the College of Business with Advanced Standing I, or to the College to study the four-year programme without advanced standing. The minimum graduation requirement for Advanced Standing I entrants is 93 credits.

Overseas Exposure

To enhance the confidence of our graduates upon entering an international and culturally diverse workplace, internationalisation has become a priority for the College. We have over 180 exchange partner universities on 6 continents, providing 485 inbound and 465 outbound exchange opportunities for our business students.

More than half of our BBA students embark on a Student Exchange or various Overseas Summer Programmes. For the latter, students may participate in English immersion courses, volunteer work, homestay and cultural activities in India, the Philippines, Thailand, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the UK or the USA.

Internship Programme

The College-based internship programme is designed to provide students with real-life work experience in local and overseas contexts for at least six weeks in the summer. With placements in international business, banking, financial services, insurance, accountancy firms etc., students are expected to gain an in-depth and practical understanding of business operations in a professional context.

In addition, the six departments of the College offer internship opportunities for students to acquire hands-on experience in the business world before graduation. Students can apply for either part-time or full-time job placements in local, mainland and overseas companies.

Young Scholars Programme

“Nurtures outstanding BBA students to become future leaders in the world.”

To nurture BBA students to become outstanding future leaders in the region/world, we have launched the Young Scholars Programme, which offers the following:

  • overseas exposure during semester breaks, including study trips to renowned companies and universities;
  • internship placements in multi-national companies to be arranged locally or overseas;
  • networking with top business students admitted locally and overseas;
  • professional mentorships provided by professors and professional practitioners; and
  • cultivation of social responsibility through community services and voluntary work.
