Department of Economics and Finance

The Department of Economics and Finance provides solid training in both the theory and application of economics and finance. The Department aims to equip graduates with cutting-edge knowledge in modern economics and finance and to provide Hong Kong with the young financial executives, economists and business leaders it needs. The mission of the Department is to be a centre of excellence in research and teaching, using economics and finance for business and public sector decision making in Hong Kong, Mainland China and other economies in the world.

Admission Arrangements for Direct/Non-JUPAS Applicants

Applicants to this programme (admission code: 1003) will be considered for admission to first-year studies at the Department of Economics and Finance. Students will enter a major (current major options: Business Economics; Finance) after one year of study. The top 40% of students# will have a free choice of majors offered by the Department. The other 60% of students will be allocated a major within the Department, subject to the availability of places and the selection criteria set by individual majors.
