What You Will Be Studying

To meet students’ needs in different career paths, the BBA in Information Management programme incorporates the following three study streams.

Business Intelligence (BI) stream
Financial services companies in Hong Kong face major challenges in managing “big data”. This stream offers business intelligence and analytics techniques for improving efficiency and transforming data into useful information that helps businesses to make wise decisions. Graduates of this stream may find jobs as business analysts, project managers, systems analysts and data analysts in financial services firms.

Information Systems Auditing (ISA) stream
To reduce risks and to maintain sustainable growth, business firms are applying the methods and principles of information systems auditing and information management for governance. Graduates may find jobs as information systems auditors or risk managers in the Big 4 accounting firms, or as risk management consultants in financial services industries.

Internet Services and Social Networks (ISSN) stream
Mobile and Internet services on the cloud are widely used to increase work efficiencies and improve customer satisfactions. Social media and social networks are growing in popularity and have changed the way we do business. The Internet Services and Social Networks stream equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to be successful in the knowledge society. Graduates may find jobs as digital marketing managers, e-commerce managers or e-business analysts in e-commerce firms, government departments and organizations with information service needs.

Start Your Career Here

Today’s business is disrupted by Internet+ technologies, i.e., social networks, mobile applications, big data and cloud services.  If you look at the top 10 companies in the world today, there are all global technology ventures like Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google), and Facebook in USA, or Baidu, Alibaba and Tencent in China, which are quite different from 10 years ago, when top 10 companies were all resource intensive.

BBA Information Management prepares you for the careers of the future.  You will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to apply Internet+ technologies for business innovations.  Our graduates find jobs in the banking, accounting, insurance and financial departments of large organizations. They become data analysts, business analysts, systems analysts and e-business specialists who enjoy rapid promotion to management roles.

Professional Recognition

Some of the courses in the major are designed to prepare students for the following professional certification exams: Project Management Professional (PMP) of the Project Management Institute (PMI), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Google Analytics, Google AdWords and big data analytics or data mining certificates.

Bonus Features
