The size of the financial sector in Hong Kong has been on the steady rise in the last few years. All signs point to further growth in this area, e.g., the total market capitalization was at 12 trillion HKD in January 2007 and stood at 20 trillion in October 2007. Mainland policy with regard to overseas investment for Chinese citizens is also helping fund flow into Hong Kong. For these reasons, a surge in demand for professionals in risk management and in quantitative financial matters is expected.
