In today's business environment, professional accountants need an in-depth knowledge of law, particularly in areas such as auditing, taxation, securities regulation, insolvency and company secretarial practice. Our programme is designed to meet the increasing demand for professional accountants with a strong legal background.

How Do You Get In

To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following specific entrance requirements:

D in HKCEE Additional Mathematics or Mathematics
or
E in AS Level Applied Mathematics, or Further Mathematics, or Mathematics and Statistics, or Mathematics with Applications, or Pure Mathematics, or Statistics
or
E in AL Applied Mathematics, or Further Mathematics, or Pure Mathematics

Preference will be given to applicants who have attained D or above in HKALE AS Level Use of English.

With the help of  the latest technologies, such as computer-assisted self-learning packages, we will improve your communication skills through our interactive teaching methods. We will also develop your analytical and critical capabilities through role-playing, simulations and mooting exercises.

Professional Accreditation

The BBA (Hons) Accountancy and Law has been approved by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA) as an accredited accountancy degree for the HKICPA's Qualification Programme.

Graduates are eligible for Associate Membership of CPA Australia provided that all required core curriculum subjects are completed.

In addition, the programme is recognized by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) for a maximum possible exemption of 9 papers from its professional examination scheme, and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) for all 5 papers at Certificate Level and 3 papers at Managerial Level.

Bonus Features

A block credit transfer of 60 credits is available to graduates who pursue the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) programme at CityU. Graduates who successfully complete the Bachelor of Laws (Hons) programme will be able to obtain two degrees, the BBA (Hons) Accountancy and Law, and the Bachelor of Laws (Hons).
