Our Target

You will receive a well-rounded legal education from our staff, including distinguished teachers and scholars from Hong Kong, the mainland of China, UK, Germany, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. In addition, you will get a chance to be taught by visiting faculty from law schools such as Oxford, Columbia, Yale and Sydney.

How Do You Get In

To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following specific entrance requirement:

  • C in HKALE AS Level Use of English or other equivalent qualification

The University may allow previous educational or vocational experience to be counted toward the credit units required to earn a degree and such experience will be shown on students' transcripts.

What You Will Be Studying

        ·       Core law subjects  such as Constitutional Law, Hong Kong Legal System, Contract Law, Tort Law, Legal Method, Criminal
             Law, 
and Land Law.

·       Courses required for entry to the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL) such as Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure, Law of Evidence, Equity and Trusts, Company Law, and Commercial Law.
·       Chinese law subjects  such as Economic Law of China, Foreign Investment and Trade Law of China, and Legal System of the People's Republic of China.
·       Electives  such as Intellectual Property Law, International Trade, Banking Law, Securities Law, Corporate Social Responsibility, Environmental Law, Dispute Resolution, Family Law in Hong Kong, and Law of Human Rights and Civil Liberties.

Professional Accreditation

The Bachelor of Laws with Honours Degree (LLB) is a recognized qualification for admission to the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws (PCLL), a prerequisite to enter the legal profession in Hong Kong.

  • The School of Law provides extensive training and financial support to students for participating in international mooting competitions.

 


Did You Know?

If you select the School of Law's Bachelor of Laws (LLB) programme as a Band A choice of your JUPAS application and are nominated by your School Principal and subsequently admitted to the programme, you may be entitled to the City University School of Law Admission Scholarship. The value of each award is HK$50,000.
