Our Target

We aim to establish an awareness and concern in graduates with regard to the technology and management of the process through which buildings are produced. You will have a sound grasp of the principles and processes required to construct buildings of all types, of organizational and operational practices and of the financial management methods of the building industry. You will be able to exercise judgment on matters of building production management and will understand the roles and functions of other professionals involved in the multi-disciplinary building industry.

The construction industry is one of the most important industries in Hong Kong, employing almost 10% of the workforce.  With the introduction of 10 major infrastructural projects and the mandatory building inspection scheme, the industry is expected to grow and expand in the coming years. Graduates in Construction Engineering and Management continue to be in high demand.


How Do You Get In

To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements and the following specific entrance requirements:

  • E in two of the following HKALE subjects: Physics, Engineering Science, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry
OR
  • E in one of the following HKALE subjects: Physics, Engineering Science, Pure Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Chemistry
    and
    E in two of the following HKALE AS subjects: Physics, Applied Mathematics, Mathematics and Statistics, Chemistry
OR
  •  A higher diploma or an associate degree in a related discipline.

Forbidden combinations:

  • HKALE Physics/HKALE Engineering Science/HKALE AS Physics
  • HKALE Pure Mathematics/HKALE AS Mathematics and Statistics
