This major is designed to meet the needs of present-day engineering students with diverse scientific backgrounds. It aims to equip them with basic technical and engineering knowledge and analytical, managerial and behavioural skills while preparing them for life-long growth within the field of Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management. The BEIEEM major prepares graduates for a variety of careers in today's continually evolving manufacturing, engineering and services industries.
Upon graduation, you will find career opportunities in manufacturing, engineering services, consulting, construction, trading, government and financial institutions where work must be efficiently organised and managed, particularly when the workforce deals closely with “hard” and “soft” technologies. To be eligible for admission, you must satisfy the General Entrance Requirements of the university and college.
Applicants with HKAL, GCE A-levels, IB or other equivalent high school qualification must have passed a science or mathematics based subject such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Applied or Pure Mathematics, Engineering Science, Design & Technology, Statistics etc.
For Associate Degree/Higher Diploma, applicants are normally expected to have completed the AD/HD award with a CGPA of ≥3.0, or an equivalent overall mark or credit award in an engineering or a related discipline.

The College of Science and Engineering and the Department offer work placement opportunities through different internship schemes that provide students with full-time job attachments to firms not only in Hong Kong, but also the Pearl River Delta region and overseas. Through such placements, students will:
