Our Target

We aim to equip students with analytical, technical, managerial and behavioural skills and knowledge in the fields of e-logistics technology and technology management, to prepare them for key professional and managerial roles in the global logistics industry. Students acquire a broad understanding of the necessary concepts, techniques and relevant information technology tools that enable them to identify and tackle diverse problems in the logistics and related sectors. We provide students with a solid foundation in the relevant disciplines through practical hands-on projects and extensive exposure to real world scenarios via internships and overseas exchange programmes or other arrangements with a view to attaining the dynamic levels and standards required by the global market.


Entrance Requirements for Direct/Non-JUPAS Applicants

For senior-year (Advanced Standing II) admission, applicants are normally expected to have completed an Associate Degree/Higher Diploma with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of ≥3.0 or an equivalent overall mark, or a credit award in Engineering or a related discipline.

Innovative teaching approaches are adopted in the delivery of the curriculum to successfully integrate theories with industrial practices. Problem-solving and student-centred activities, experience-based learning, integrative management workshops, industrial attachments, co-operative education and industry-based projects are the typical means for achieving our targets.

Graduates enjoy career opportunities in a broad range of logistics-related industries such as international freight forwarding, inventory management and warehousing, transportation, supply chain planning and control and industrial, financial, hospitality and manufacturing services. Typical starting positions include logistics analyst/officer, logistics engineer, distribution systems analyst/engineer, production and materials controller, supply chain planner and management/trainee graduate.

The College of Science and Engineering and the Department offer work placement opportunities through various internship schemes that provide students with full-time job attachments in firms not only in Hong Kong, but also in the Pearl River Delta region and overseas. Through such placements, students will: 

  • gain solid experience in a real world work environment;
  • develop problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills;
  • learn the right attitudes towards work and professionalism; and
