Our Target

We aim to produce graduates who can serve as key professionals in the manufacturing and service industries amid increasing global challenges. Students acquire a broad understanding of the concepts, techniques and tools in the subject domain that enable them to identify and tackle diverse quality engineering and management problems in the manufacturing and service sectors. In addition to engineering know-how, students are equipped with quality control, quality assurance, reliability engineering and Total Quality Management skills, with additional training in trace element analysis, international standards conformity testing and compliance knowledge and skills. They also have extensive exposure to real world industry scenarios through practical hands-on projects, industrial internships and industry-based final-year projects.


Entrance Requirements for Direct/Non-JUPAS Applicants

For senior-year (Advanced Standing II) admission, applicants are normally expected to have completed an Associate Degree/Higher Diploma with a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) of ≥3.0 or an equivalent overall mark, or a credit award in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, Product Design and Product Testing or a related discipline.

Professional Recognition

This major is granted accreditation by the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and Hong Kong Society for Quality (HKSQ). Graduates of this major meet the academic requirements for Corporate Membership of the HKIE and those for HKSQ Certified Quality Engineer.
